Business Development Manager Salary and Benefits:
Salary: £5060k (including car allowance), dependent on experience
OTE: £100k+, increasing as pipeline grows
Bonus: Potential company/profit-related bonus
Commission: Agreed in line with objectives
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays
Pension: NEST (Employee 5%, Employer 3%, Gov 2%)
Mileage: 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles

The Company
An established consultancy business with a long track record in contract catering, procurement and operational performance is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to help expand a rapidly growing digital service within the education sector. Known for bringing structure, transparency and data-driven insight to clients, the organisation now supports schools, MATs and public-sector bodies across strategic reviews, benchmarking, operational improvement and technology-led transformation.
The Role
This position will focus on developing and converting new opportunities for the companys innovative system-as-a-service solution, working closely with the wider Business Development function, Marketing, and the Head of Operations. You will take full ownership of your pipeline, build strong long-term relationships, and represent the business with credibility and confidence at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands school catering operations and can translate that experience into meaningful value for clients.
Key Requirements
Essential: Operational experience in state school catering (Operations Managers with sales aptitude welcomed).
Proven experience in catering sales and/or procurement within the education sector.
Strong understanding of foodservice, sustainability and procurement initiatives.
Ability to sell technology or system-based services.
Proactive, driven, and confident in managing your own sales process.
Consultative, relationship-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and working collaboratively with BD and Marketing teams.
Tenacity and commercial focus, supported by an internal telesales function.
Ideal Experience
Experience working with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) .
Background in purchasing/procurement.
Strong commercial understanding of education-sector catering.
