Kitchen Porter

Salary: £26,437 + Tronc

Duties and responsibilities related to the Kitchen Porter role  

• accountable for washing, scrubbing and maintaining floors and work surfaces as well as all operational kitchen and F&B equipment, including shelving, fridges, freezers, sink units, drains and ice machines.
• accountable to safely operate dish washing machine, compactor and Orca machine.
• accountable to maintain a clean and sanitary work area and preventing hazards.
• responsible to empty all garbage as appropriate, adopting the ‘clear as you go’ method of working.
• responsible for the correct use of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• assist to maintain plates/glasses clean and polished.
• accountable for assisting with light kitchen duties i.e. peeling, picking, traying, boxing, organizing, mixing, portioning, frying, bringing and collecting cooked or uncooked food etc.
• accountable for assisting with producing light tasks in recipe production i.e. cracking eggs for omelet.
• accountable for assisting to provide a warm welcome and hosting the team in the employee restaurant.
• accountable for assisting with serving food as per new Hygiene guidelines and SOP’s.
• accountable for enhanced cleaning according to guidelines and SOP’s.
• assist with all duties related to food stores, food deliveries and SOP’s.
• wear the correct uniform while working in different areas/ performing different duties.

About You 

You bring hands‑on experience in hotel operations, with a good understanding of back‑of‑house standards that support a premium guest experience. Highly organised and efficient, you excel at multitasking in fast‑paced environments while maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards. With a proactive, guest‑focused mindset, you ensure that all kitchen and service areas operate smoothly and safely. Your reliable work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with both culinary and service teams make you a valued contributor to overall hotel operations.
