Deputy Catering Manager

for an education site in Worcester. The Role As

Deputy Catering Manager , you'll support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of this busy education catering operation. You'll help oversee multiple outlets including the main dining areas, retail cafés, hospitality, and event catering. You'll be a visible, hands-on leader who can motivate the team, maintain excellent food standards, and ensure a safe, efficient service that reflects the client's values and the needs of the educational community. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced catering professional who thrives in a people-focused environment and is looking to progress their career.

Key Responsibilities Support the General Manager in overseeing daily catering & hospitality operations across campus. Lead a team of 30+ to deliver excellent service across all catering outlets. Assist with financial management, including budget control, cost analysis, and stock management. Build and maintain strong relationships with school/university leadership, students, and staff. Support the planning and delivery of hospitality and special event catering. Deputise for the General Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of service and performance.

What We're Looking For Previous experience in a management role within contract catering or a similar environment ideally in the education sector. A hands-on, approachable leader who can motivate and develop a diverse team. Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management, and compliance standards. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels. Commercially aware with a focus on quality, efficiency, and value. Passionate about healthy eating, sustainability, and exceptional service.
