Job posted recently and applications are being invited for a substantive Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to work across a sector-based role between the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for Lancaster and Morecambe, and the Inpatient Ward at The Orchard, Lancaster. The post is full time.

Pay and terms: Salary £109,725 to £145,478 per year, Permanent contract, Full-time, Location: Victoria House, Thornton Road, Morecambe, LA4 5QG. The post may include joining the Consultant On Call rota with additional remuneration. A 5% retention payment of basic salary is payable over 2 years. There is a Golden Hello payment per terms below. Eligibility criteria apply; staff already employed by the Trust are not eligible for the recruitment/retention premia.

Dates/eligibility: Staff must meet medical registration and specialist eligibility criteria as described in the job details.

Responsibilities

The role comprises sector-based duties between the CMHT for Lancaster and Morecambe (approximately 0.6 wte) and the inpatient team at The Orchard, Lancaster (approximately 0.4 wte). You would be joining two other Consultant colleagues. Main duties include clinical work across the Community Mental Health Team and inpatient services, with responsibilities in line with the New Consultant Contract and clinical governance expectations.

Other duties include participation in the Consultant On Call rota (additional remuneration payable).

Qualifications

Essential

• MBBS or equivalent
• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise
• On the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within 6 months
• Section 12 approved or eligible within 3 months
• Approved Clinician (AC) status or eligible within 3 months

Experience

• Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to this role
