Title: General Catering Assistant

Location: Haberdashers Boys School

Term time only - 42.5 hours per week (8 paid hours with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break per day, 5 out of 7 days)

Normal working day: 7 am to 3.30 pm ( hours may vary due to business needs)

Salary: £12.21 per Hour

Nestled in the heart of Elstree, this prestigious independent school - Haberdashers School's Elstree, caters for 2700 day pupils and staff and includes not only a breakfast, break and lunch service but also an extensive hospitality service. This operates 7 days a week.  

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled General Catering Assistant to make a name for themselves within the food service industry and be a part of setting the new standard for education catering.

As a General Catering Assistant you will…

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks according to established menus and recipes.
• Assist the kitchen with food preparation where required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

• Ideally have experience working within Education catering
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
