Job Title: Artisan Bread/Pastry Baker Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire Company: The Heritage Bakery Limited . Due to recent client expansion we're looking for an experienced artisan bread baker and a pastry chef to join our team. We are a growing business with exciting plans, you will be working within a small team creating the finest artisan breads and pastries. Key skills need for the position: - Assist in the preparation of all ingredients used in the baking process - Follow standard recipes steps to prepare ingredients and bake goods - Ensure that all baked goods are properly mixed, shaped and baked according to standard recipes - Confident in mixing dough using percentage recipes, hand weighing, moulding, and shaping bread and rolls -Knowledge of sourdough baking -Measuring and weighing wet and dry ingredients -Using mixers to blend ingredients and preparing ovens and equipment -Following procedures for dough resting and rising and kneading/shaping dough -Packaging and arranging baked goods for shop displays -Able to operate different types of mixers and a deck oven -Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards -Able to manage stock levels appropriately, supporting regular stock rotation and checks -Ensure cleanliness of the building, equipment and facilities are always to the highest standards -Maintaining records, cleaning schedules and setting timers -Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods You must have: Experience of artisan bread baking Minimum of two years experience in a bakery production role Excellent ability working independently and as part of a team Organised and capable of multi-tasking with exceptional attention to detail A passion for artisan baking, breads, pastries, and cakes High standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance Exceptional communication skills Excellent time management Hours: Full time position working a set shift pattern between 42 - 48 per week across Monday - Sunday, rotating between 7am-3pm and 2pm-10pm. There is also the flexibility to work up to 60 hours per week for candidates that would prefer more hours. **Immediate start available**
